Studio Tenjung, founded by second-generation rug-maker Tenzin Tsomo, specializes in bespoke, contemporary hand-knotted rugs that showcase the vast potential of artisanal craftsmanship through a modern perspective. We offer a wide range of customizable flooring solutions for both residential and contract projects.

"In Tsomo's words: 'I grew up in a Tibetan refugee community in Nepal, surrounded by elders whose hands worked magic—spinning, dyeing, and weaving. My late grandmother carded and spun wool at the Tibetan Handicraft Center, while my mother was a weaver. She and her best friend crafted intricate three-by-six rugs, bringing landscapes, medallions, cranes, phoenixes, and dragons to life, knot by knot. My deep connection to textiles comes from them.'"

Tenjung is the Tibetan word for interdependence. It is a philosophy that is fundamental to our business practice and guides our commitment to sustainability and to our partner artisans. Where possible, we work directly with weaver-owned and operated workshops in Nepal and ensure they are paid fair wages that exceed industry standards. Our rugs are created in small batches using materials and techniques of the best quality. A perfect modern heirloom that will last generations!
