CARE & MAINTENANCE

Vacuum regularly with a straight suction to keep the rug clean. New woolen rugs naturally shed dead fiber in the beginning. With time, there will be less of this shedding. Till then, use a sticky lint roller gently on the surface of the rug to lift the dead fibers. We also recommend using a soft bristle brush from time to time, especially around corners to keep the high pile plush and soft.

Tibetan Highland Wool has a high lanolin content and doesn’t let water seep in easily so there’s a chance that your rug won’t stain if spillage is addressed immediately. Spot clean with a cotton towel by gently blotting over the spill. You can also use diluted dishwashing soap and dab over the stain with a cotton towel. For silk rugs and stronger stains, such as pet urine or wine it is best to seek advice from a professional.

To store your rugs away, we recommend you roll your rug in the opposite direction of the pile and wrap them in a muslin bag (included with rug). Never leave your rugs in plastic bags as water vapor will condense inside the plastic and the dampness can damage to your rugs.
