Unlike her sister who was fiery and reckless, Ugen was quiet and reserved but had exceptional taste. She always gravitated towards hand- woven pangdens, striped with muted tones of indigo, walnut and madder. In the old bazaars of Kathmandu, she was jokingly asked if she was a Nepali- Bahun because of her slightly elevated nose bridge.
